Why I'm Offering This
This seems like it’s too good to be true right?
Let me give you a little background on me, and my life. Perhaps you’ll get a better understanding of where I’m coming from.
I’m 52 years old, I have an 18-year-old daughter that I’ve raised single-handedly since she was just three years old, after her mother (my wife) sadly passed away, aged just 37.
I needed help, and found it; through the various support organisations, communities, and friendships I made as I went through the grieving process.
My experience helped me to co-create a Social Enterprise to help others in similar situations. We created a digital platform to make caring for those living with a life-limiting condition just that little bit easier.
Although I’m no longer part of that social enterprise, a version of that platform still lives on today, still helping people.
After moving to South Wales in 2020, I’ve found that the community spirit lives on, and in today’s cost of living crisis world, they need help.
At the beginning of October 2023, I suffered a heart attack. I genuinely thought my number was up. However, the care I received at the time, and since, has made me realise that people still rely on each other and the community more than we recognise.
I want to put something back in to the community.
Unfortunately, I’m not in the position to offer my services for free, but I can offer them for bare minimum; £20 per hour just about covers my expenses.
Who Is Eligible?
My current thinking is local charities, social enterprises, and perhaps other not-for-profit organisations.
There is no definitive, set criteria, and I can’t offer this to everyone, but if you’re a ‘good cause’, I’d be happy to talk with you.
