As a local handyman, this CoronaVirus has decimated my business. Of course, people still need work doing, and things still need repairing, but we all have to be socially responsible.
Being socially responsible is one thing, but this does mean that the majority of people are waiting until the lockdown ends before inviting anyone, never mind trades people into their home.
So what can I do?
Handmade Wooden Furniture
I've decided that sitting around waiting for the lockdown to end won't do me any good; that won't pay the bills. Or keep me sane.
I started playing with a few off-cuts of wood that I have available, and I see it as a way of keeping me occupied, and possibly, making a little money to pay my bills, but essentially, I am now making bespoke wooden creations, whether that's jewellery boxes, shelving units, treasure trunks ... anything that can be made from wood, but that I can add value to.
All of these creations are completely handmade, some are finished in natural wood, some are coloured, while others are a uniform colour, gloss finished.
Yes, there's an element of being able to see some cut marks, knots, or grain deformity, but that's part of the beauty - these are all individual; no two pieces are the same.
My plan is to make some basic designs, and then let you customise them as you want - colours, finishing, furniture, fixings ... it will be a completely bespoke creation for you.
Essentially, what we're looking at is a wooden construction, that may incorporate different elements - leather, metal, cotton, fabric ... whatever it is that you'd like.
The only real limitation is you.
Drop me a line to find out more.
